To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die

But I also watched a lot of movies I didn’t expect! I finally watched all Alien and Predator films, and tons of stuff that were not included on the above list. It’s been a fruitful year! So, let’s see what comes out in 2024 that makes me excited to be a cinephile. This year, in a different form – just a list.

  • The Beekeeper (premieres in January) – umm…
  • Poor Things (premieres in January) – I feel like it is being a little overhyped and makes me not excited at all, but…
  • Kimi-tachi wa Dō Ikiru ka (premieres in January) – maybe not for a theatre visit, but…
  • Robot Dreams (premieres in January) – I am a sucker for cute robots

Take me out tonight
Because I want to see people and I want to see life

That is quite the list, no? I was wondering if there is a point of making another long one for TV series, but… Since this year I am not giving a long-ass description of the movie and equally long “why I am excited”, here it goes:

  • Expats (premieres in January on Amazon Prime) – I am not sure, but will check it out…
  • Masters of the Air (premiers in January on Apple TV) – Baryyyyyyy yeassss!
  • The New Look (premiers in February on Apple TV) – hmm, now listen up… This might be good?

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender (premieres in February on Netflix) – it’s either going to be fantastic or a flop, nothing in between.
  • Fallout (premieres in April on Amazon Prime) – my hopes are soooo high.
  • The Penguin (premieres sometime in Autumn on Max) – this can be one of the best shows of 2024…

  • The Acolyte (premieres “at some point” in 2024 on Disney+) – Star Wars, baby, let’s go!
  • The Boys S4 (premieres “at some point” in 2024 on Amazon Prime) – this show might be one of the biggest personal surprises for me and I hope S4 leaves no crumbs!
  • Dune: Prophesy (premieres “at some point” in 2024 on Max) – I am cautious here, because there is still a lot of ambiguity around it.

Take me out tonight
Where there’s music and there’s people and they’re young and alive

Lot, I was tempted to do one with books, but we would be here for hours… But honestly, there is so much to look forward to this year. In TV, cinema and my life – but this comes next week.

Now, I am off to find an ideal pistachio-filled croissant with my friend, because we deserve it. Also, the weather is quite nice and my flu is finally letting go, so I can go enjoy a little sun and air. It’s time to celebrate the end of 15-year long karmic cycle and what better way than being out and about?

  1. I am so behind with the premieres for this year, most of your films are news to me :p I am excited for Dune p. II and Inside Out 2 for sure, but also for Deadpool 3 (but simply because of Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine). Poor Things is apparently very good, I’ll be curious to see it. I also have mixed feelings for Joker, and with Gladiator – for the latter one, it feels like it’s being made too late. I love Tom Hardy but the last Venom was not very good so I am on the fence with this one. There’s also Madame Web, which I will probably see (because continuity of Sony’s Spiderverse) but I think it will be crappy af XD
Thank goodness for people like you so that the clueless ones like me can keep up haha
